(Dan Tri) – US officials say that many topics revealed in classified documents show that the leaking suspect is an American citizen, not from an allied country.

US officials are actively investigating to determine the source of the leak of about 100 pages of confidential Pentagon documents.
Some Western security analysts as well as US officials believe the leak suspect may be an American.
`According to the current focus, this is an American leak, because many documents are only in American hands,` Michael Mulroy, a former Pentagon official, told Reuters.
The US investigation is in its early stages to determine the motive of the leak.
Last week, more than 100 pages of confidential Pentagon documents were suddenly leaked on social networks.
Given the sensitivity of the information appearing in the document, this development could cause damage to the US, as well as members of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance (US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK).
International media have not been able to independently verify the authenticity of the leaked documents.
Mr. Mick Mulroy said the leak showed a `serious security breach` that could hinder Ukraine’s military plans.
For example, one of the documents dated February 23 marked `Secret` assessed that, at the current rate of consumption, Ukraine could run out of S-300 air defense missiles before May 2.
In addition to the Ukraine issue, the leaked documents also mention many other topics and can be considered evidence that the US collects intelligence information on countries, including Israel, one of its important allies.
