(Dan Tri) – Moscow considers the Western idea of deploying peace forces in Ukraine to be `extremely dangerous` and means directly participating in war against Russia.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban revealed on March 31 that European Union (EU) leaders are discussing whether to send peace forces to Ukraine or not.

Reacting to this information, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: `If we are talking about some kind of serious negotiations, then this is an extremely dangerous discussion. In world practice, the

Vice Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev also warned that any move by the EU to deploy peace forces in Ukraine would be considered direct participation in the conflict with Russia.

`Their real purpose is very clear: establish a peace that benefits them, send forces with machine guns and tanks to Ukraine in the guise of a peace force,` Mr. Medvedev said.

He emphasized: `Obviously, NATO peacekeeping forces will then go to war against Russia. They will be legitimate targets of the Russian army if sent to the front lines without Moscow’s consent.`

Russia has repeatedly warned the United States and the West to stop providing weapons to Ukraine because this aid only prolongs the conflict and brings the risk of direct confrontation between nuclear powers.

These countries also oppose the proposed ceasefire in Ukraine at the present time due to concerns that Moscow will take advantage of this opportunity to restore forces for a new attack.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on March 31 announced proposals to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict, including a ceasefire and a ban on the mobilization of soldiers and weapons to prevent the parties from using them.

Commenting on the above proposal, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said that Mr. Lukashenko will have the opportunity to discuss with President Vladimir Putin when the two leaders meet next week.

He also refused to compare Belarus’s peace proposal with the 10-point plan put forward by China last month on the grounds that `these are two groups of ideas`.
