Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today, April 18, that the Kremlin does not know information about the plan proposed by French President Emmanuel Macron related to negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

According to sources, France expects negotiations between Russia and Ukraine to take place this summer if everything goes well.
An official from President Macron’s office confirmed the plan, but declined to comment in detail, adding that France’s allies would be informed of any initiatives launched by France.
President Macron in early April visited China to promote his peace plan in Ukraine.
China has so far affirmed its neutrality in the Russia-Ukraine issue.
Meanwhile, the administration of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is also trying to become a mediator for the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
President Silva said he has discussed with many foreign leaders the idea of establishing a national reconciliation group similar to the G20 model to find a peaceful solution to the war in Ukraine.
The Kremlin spokesman said that it is still too early to evaluate Brazil’s initiative and many issues need to be considered.
Mr. Peskov stated that Russia is `ready to listen` to any idea related to resolving the conflict in Ukraine, but that idea must `take into account Moscow’s interests.`
During a joint press conference with his Brazilian counterpart on April 17 in the capital Brasilia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov affirmed that Russia `wants to end the Ukraine conflict as quickly as possible`.
Moscow has repeatedly affirmed its willingness to negotiate an end to the conflict, but accused Kiev of not being in good faith.
However, the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Moscow `will not accept any conditions related to Ukraine`, especially the request that Russia withdraw its troops.
