Russia’s reaction after top secret NATO documents about Ukraine were leaked

(Dan Tri) – Russia believes that top secret documents from the US and NATO on plans to support Ukraine are evidence of these countries’ involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.

The leaked secret document includes a lot of information, including information about Ukraine’s ammunition consumption level and counter-attack plans in the spring (Illustration: Getty).

`We do not have the slightest doubt that the US and NATO are directly or indirectly involved in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This intervention is gradually increasing,` Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov

He added: `We will monitor this. Of course, that intervention makes things more complicated, but it cannot influence the outcome of Russia’s military campaign.`

This is Moscow’s first comment after information appeared that top secret US and NATO documents about Ukraine were leaked on social networks.

According to this document, the US and NATO are training and equipping 9 of Ukraine’s 12 new combat brigades.

The leaked documents do not include specific battle plans, such as how, when and where Ukraine plans to launch a counterattack.

The US Department of Defense said yesterday that the agency is investigating the leak of classified documents.

Three senior US officials told Reuters that they suspected the leak was related to Russia or pro-Russian forces and that some information may have been edited to benefit Moscow, such as lowering the damage assessment.

On the Ukrainian side, Mykhailo Podolyak, senior advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky, suspected that the information in the so-called leaked plan `resembles Russia’s disinformation campaign to sow doubts about the counterattack plan.`

`Russia is looking for every way to regain the initiative. Trying to influence the scenarios for Ukraine’s counterattack plans,` he said.

Ukrainian officials yesterday had an emergency meeting to discuss measures to prevent the leak of military information.

The leak took place at a time when Kiev signaled preparations for a counterattack to regain territories from Russia.
