The President of Ukraine arrived in Poland amid intense fighting

(Dan Tri) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky began an official visit to Poland amid the escalating conflict with Russia.

The Polish presidential office announced today, April 5, that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky crossed the border and began an official visit to Poland – a neighboring country and one of Kiev’s closest partners.

Marcin Przydacz, head of the Foreign Policy Office of the President of Ukraine, told Polish TV station TVN24 that Mr. Zelensky is expected to be present at the Polish Presidential Palace at 11 a.m. (local time).

The Presidents of Ukraine and Poland will give a joint speech at 6 pm (local time).

Unlike previous foreign visits since Russia began its military campaign, President Zelensky will accompany his wife on this visit to Poland.

During the visit, the President of Ukraine will sign bilateral agreements and hold talks with Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Mr. Zelensky will also meet with Polish business representatives within the framework of the Ukraine-Poland business forum, leaders of the upper and lower houses of the Polish Parliament, and mayors of cities bordering Ukraine.

Poland is one of the NATO countries that has actively supported Ukraine since the early days of the conflict.

Before coming to Poland, President Zelensky paid visits to other Western countries.

Mr. Zelensky’s visit to neighboring Poland, a close ally that plays an important role in consolidating Western political and military support for Kiev, comes as Ukraine plans a counterattack to

Poland, one of the strongest supporting countries for Ukraine, announced in February that it would provide 14 Leopard2 tanks and 60 T-72 tanks from the Soviet era.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on April 4 that President Zelensky was also invited to attend the alliance’s summit, taking place in Lithuania’s capital Vilnius in July.

`A strong independent Ukraine is vital to the stability of the Euro-Atlantic region and we look forward to meeting President Zelensky at our Vilnius summit in July,` he said.
